If you have read our Company page, you know that GotTrigger started with Firearm Instruction. We offer something for every level of shooter, from thinking about buying a gun to experienced shooters with years under their belts. We absolutely love discussing the student’s needs and then developing and approach just for them. The best time to contact us is before you even buy a gun. Learn more below.
We have female instructors and can run all of these classes in a female only setting. Women in the shooting sports has only gotten larger in recent years and GotTrigger wants you to feel safe and comfortable, which will enhance your learning.
Safety is Never Negotiable!
GotTrigger requires instructors have to have at a minimum the following certifications to ensure student safety while in the classroom and on the range. Most of our instructors have more than these minimums.
Before we hold a training or event, our instructors perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies as well as document emergency contacts in the unlikely event something does happen. Additionally, our instructors go through our own training on how to respond to emergencies to keep our students safe and to ensure they have an enjoyable and informative time.
Before you Buy
Unfortunately we get a lot of students who need instruction after they bought a gun they liked at the gun store. Why is this unfortunate? Because the way a gun looks and fits in your hand are just two aspects of whether a gun is right for you. The caliber of ammunition, or more importantly, the felt recoil from that particular firearm can make shooting your new gun quite literally a pain.
Let us help you find the right new gun (and caliber) for you! GotTrigger keeps an inventory of firearms for you to review, feel and even shoot before you buy. GotTrigger is not a firearm reseller, and we do not promote any gun over another. Our staff has years of experience working with students and we can very quickly help you choose the perfect firearm for you.
We work with a lot of female shooters and we commonly (too commonly) meet a woman whose boyfriend or husband said they needed this or that caliber, or this specific gun, or what have you. When your gun isn’t right for you, you won’t have fun and you won’t shoot it. If you bought a gun for defensive purposes, you are less likely to use it when you need to. Does that seem like a good idea?
One of our students had a terrible flinch when she shot. After working with her, we found out that her husband had selected the gun she needed to shoot. The trouble was, the gun he selected was causing her “slide bite” each time she shot to the point where she was bleeding. We sized her hand to the right frame and caliber for her and now she is enjoying shooting just as much as the next person.
Learning the Basics
Your first time shooting can be the most exhilarating thing ever. If you aren’t a new shooter, but are working to get better decreasing your shot size is just as rewarding.
We strongly recommend that everyone take the NRA Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun courses because they provide you with the most information on how to safely handle any gun you may come across. These courses will teach you about the different types, a little history, how to load, unload and clean them safely.
Dialing in your Shot
Aim small, miss small. Let us help you dial in your shots through one on one instruction. With our years of experience we can analyze your shooting style and then help you make the corrections you need to become even better.
Winchester / NRA Marsksman Qualifications
The qualification program is designed to take shooters from beginning skill levels (Pro-Marksman and Marksman) through intermediate levels (Marksman 1st Class, Sharpshooter, and Expert) up to the nationally recognized skill level and pinnacle of the program, Distinguished Expert. By the time a shooter completes the Distinguished Expert rating in rifle, pistol and shotgun, he/she has attained a proficiency level paralleling that of a competitively classified Sharpshooter.
Amateurs train until they get it right, professionals train until they get it wrong. You have grip, your trigger pull, and sight alignment right where you want them? Let us take you to the next level by adding pressure from timing, multiple targets, even physical exertion before you shot. You only get better when you push yourself, and shooting is a perishable skill.
Military / Law Enforcement
If you are Military or Law Enforcement, Contact Us to discuss your needs and how we are able to assist you.
